The Sea otter plaque represents the correlation between bull kelp, sea urchins, and sea otters.  An important balance is struck when the sea otters consume the sea urchins thereby  minimizing the sea urchins ability to eat the bull kelp and thus the bull kelp thrives giving the sea otter a place to call home.
